SUNY Research Foundation & Sponsored Programs

SUNY RF logo

The SUNY Research Foundation (RF) comprises a central office and operating units at 30 state-operated campuses across New York State.  As SUNY’s authorized representative for externally funded grants, contracts and other agreements, the RF Sponsored Programs office prepares and submits grant proposals; negotiates agreements with government, industry, nonprofit and foreign sponsors; and accepts awards on behalf of the principal investigator and the campus.  Once an award has been accepted, the RF manages grant or sponsored program funds and ensures compliance with university, sponsor and government policies and procedures.

Mission Statement

The Sponsored Programs Office at Buffalo State exists to promote, support, and administer research, scholarship, and creative and entrepreneurial activities as a commitment to Buffalo State, SUNY, and the broader community.

Research Foundation checks will be printed TWICE per week.  Checks/Payments being returned to campus will be printed on Wednesdays then mailed out by RF Staff.  All other AP Checks/Payments to an employee or vendor will be printed and mailed out directly from Albany on Thursdays.  ACH and Electronic payments will remain to issue daily Monday through Friday.  We encourage all employees, stipends, contractors and vendors to sign up for electronic payments.  Contact Sherrie Manka (mankasl@buffalostate.edu) or LaTisha Robinson (robinslq@buffalostate.edu) with any questions.
