The Research Foundation for SUNY / Buffalo State has subscribed to GrantForward Funding Opportunity Search and Recommendation service, which is open to all members of our institution. We invite you to sign up to use the service to keep your awareness of funding opportunities.
GrantForward helps you find grant opportunities that suit your research needs with a database of grants from over 12,000 sponsors which is updated daily. You can search for grants by keywords and advanced filters, save your favorite searches for new grant alerts, and save your favorite grants to keep track of them. GrantForward also recommends grants to you based on your CV, past publications, and research interests.
In order to be able to use full search features including saved-search and personalized grant recommendations, please sign up for a user account using your @buffalostate.edu email address. We also encourage you to take a few minutes to create your “Researcher Profile” to start receiving grant recommendations!
Once a funding source has been identified, our office can assist you with:
|NOTE: All proposed grants and contracts must be submitted to the sponsor by the Pre-Award and Contract Services office. Individual departments and/or faculty members are not authorized to send out proposals or sign contracts on behalf of the Research Foundation for SUNY or Buffalo State.|
Some sponsors issue a contract as a result of a proposal submission; other times a faculty or staff member may be offered a contract by an outside agency or company. Contractual arrangements must be approved by the Pre-Award and Contract Services office, following a similar procedure as for standard grant competitions. This includes: a completed and approved routing sheet; a budget for services; and a scope of work detailing expectations. At the time of award/funding, all terms must be negotiated by our office and signed by an authorized representative.
Often a proposal is submitted by two or more institutions – whether universities, agencies, community organizations, school districts, etc. In most instances one of the participating entities is considered to be “prime” and will handle the majority of the submission and be designated to receive the award. Other participating institutions are “subawards” or “subcontracts.” These situations still require interaction with and approval from the Pre-Award and Contract Services office. Please notify us as soon as possible during the proposal phase for guidance.
