Regular employees and student employees of the Research Foundation (RF) have paperwork to complete when hired. The RF at Buffalo State uses an electronic onboarding process, Interview Exchange, and the required forms will be forwarded via this system to the new hire. All forms must be completed and submitted before the individual can be put on payroll. If the person does not have access to the internet, the SPO HR office has computers available for their use.
The prospective employee must visit the SPO HR office in Buckham B206 to present identification to accompany the I-9 form, so that employment eligibility in the U.S. can be verified. This must be done within 3 business days after the start date, by law. For additional assistance please contact Laura Leone at leonelj@buffalostate.edu or 716-878-3048.
If employed in a regular, non-student assignment for .5 FTE (half time) or more, the employee may be benefits eligible and will accrue leave.
The RF salaried payroll and hourly payroll are scheduled on a biweekly basis on Fridays. Regardless of employment status employees are responsible to submit an attendance report on a biweekly or monthly basis.
As an RF employee it is your responsibility to adhere to the policies of the RF as well as the policies and procedures of the sponsored program in which you are working. The SPO Human Resources staff is ready to assist with all employment related needs.
